I watched the interview of Luis Manzano with his mom, Gov. Vilma Santos on Entertainment Live sa TFC and I was impressed on how casual the interview went.  Siyempre no, nanay mo kaya ang pagtatanungin mo on national TV? Well, it was entertaining to see how they complimented each other. It was a light and funny interview. Binuking pa nga ni Ate Vi si Luis about Angel Locsin. Eto raw ang isa sa pinakagusto niya sa lahat ng mga nakilala niyang kaibigan ng anak dahil marespeto at mabait daw na bata.

Summer Movie Reviews PDF Print E-mail
By Mark Anthony Breuninger - AFF
Tuesday, 15 July 2008

The summer movie extravaganza continues. I have been rarely disappointed with the movies I’ve seen thus far this summer. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going with more great movies. Enjoy and see you at the movies.

Get Smart (PG-13)

KA-FREAKIN-BOOM! SIDE-SPLITTING COMEDY!

ImageThis film, by far has been one of the best movie re-makes! Nobody would have made a better Agent 86 besides Steve Carell; he truly did bring out the essence of Maxwell Smart. Carell was also reminiscent of Don Adams, who portrayed Maxwell Smaart in the original TV show, while still incorporating his own style. Anne Hathaway as Agent 99 was genius! She is just gorgeous and who knew she was so funny? One of the greatest aspects of this film was the all important chemistry, and the chemistry between Carell and Hathaway is just perfect! That is one of the reasons that made the TV series a big hit. Thanks to the filmmakers for keeping the movie up today but not forgetting its roots! If you’re looking for a film that’s not too serious and want a good laugh from, then I highly recommend this one. I am hoping they continue with some sequels!

This one makes The List.

ANGELOS PDF Print E-mail
By AFF
Thursday, 05 June 2008

Classical music goes contemporary with the Philippines’ first all-male classical-pop tenor group, Angelos.  Made up of singers George Sison-Tagle, Floyd Tena, James Uy and Jon Joven, they come from different backgrounds in singing and performing Classical, Broadway and Pop music. However, they are one in the dream of bringing the appreciation of classical music closer to the general Filipino audience through the classical-pop genre.

T
he group was first introduced last September 13, 2007, at the first major concert of classical singer George Sison-Tagle titled “Salute to George!”, held the Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila. The following month, on October 27, they had their first solo concert, “Angelos Live” at Teatrino, Greenhills with a repeat performance on November 20 at the Music Museum.

AngelosThey have since been invited to guest at popular local television shows such as Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman (GMA 7), Unang Hirit (GMA 7), Sining Gising (NBN 4), Dee’s Day (RPN 9), SOP (GMA 7), Power to Unite (NBN 4), Mel & Joey (GMA 7), Man to Man Talk (Makisig Network) and The Good Life with Cory Quirino (ANC 21). They have also performed during the prestigious FAMAS Awards Night, aired on RPN-9.  They have also done several mall shows at various branches of SM Shoemart such as the opening of the Muntinlupa branch, and Christmas shows at upscale branches SM Makati, The Block and The Podium.

Angelos has also been invited to grace special events such as the launch of Travelife Magazine, the BREW Awards of BizNews Asia magazine, the Aficionado Germany Celebrity Perfume launch, the Walk of Fame Unveiling Ceremonies at Eastwood, the Mandarin Oriental Suites Opening at Gateway Mall and the People Asia Magazine “People of the Year” Awards Night.

The repertoire of Angelos includes popular and romantic songs rendered in a classical manner, plus well-loved Filipino ballads and classics. Members of the media who have seen their performances have dubbed the group, the “Asian Il Divo” because of their Filipino/Asian looks coupled with the singing talent that can compare to international performers.  This 2008, shows lined up for the group include “Angelos: An Evening Serenade” at Teatrino on January 17, “Our Love Affair” back-to-back concert with the Spirit of ’67 band on February 12, and two shows on Valentine’s Day, February 14 – at the Peninsula Manila with Ivy Violan and Nanette Inventor and at the Makati Shangri-La back-to-back with Kuh Ledesma.
